Tim Burton has made another of his goofy-giddy visual marvels out of Lewis Carrollâs oft-filmed classic Alice in Wonderland . And while I think his movie does lose some of the delicately loony spirit of the original — as well as much of its scrumptious nonsense and poetry — that doesn’t matter as much as you might think. There are compensations.
