Sandals Credit Card Vacations

Vacationing in Montego Bay, Jamaica.?
I am going to Montego Bay in August and planning to stay at the Sandals Royale Carribean Resort with my fiance. Anyone stayed there before? How is the service and rooms there? Is there a better resort to stay at for a reasonable/comparable price? Is August a good month to be there? I’ve read that August is hurricane season. Are ATM machines easily accessible? Should I just bring cash or do many places take credit cards? Any suggestions on “must do and must not” or places/areas to stay away from while in montego bay? we will be there for only five days and want to enjoy our time. Thanks ahead of time for your replies!
In terms of places close to Montego Bay you should go to:-
Rose Hall Great House

Downtown Montego Bay has lots of historic sites on interest but some people can find this area a little bit intimidating.

If you want to go a little further afield there’s Dunn’s River Falls in Ocho Rios which is one of the main natural attractions in Jamaica.

There’s also Bob Marley’s birthplace at Nine Mile

I could suggest 100s of other places but given you’re in Jamaica for just 5 days you should stick to places nearby otherwise you’ll spend you’re whole time travelling.
Regarding ATMs, there will probably be one in your hotel. If not, there are several in the main tourist area of Montego Bay – Gloucester Road (aka “The Hip Strip”).
Most shops and restaurants take credit cards (craft vendors and road-side chefs do not).
