Choosing a Caribbean vacation for 5-year anniversary?
My husband and I are planning a trip for our 5-year anniversary in Oct. ’09. We’re considering 5 to 7 nights at an upscale all-inclusive resort, but we can’t decide what resort or which island. Obviously we can’t have it all, but some of the factors involved in our decision will be …
- Minimal children, adults-only preferable
- Ample entertainment at resort
- Alcoholic beverages included
- Ample opportunities for excursions and onsite activities
- Something unique and not manufactured for honeymoons (i.e. not Sandals)
- Great beach with palapas, preferably without beach vendors
Help! There are so many choices!
Rex resorts or Sandals on just about any island, but my favorites are: St. Lucia, Antigua and Grenada. Sandals are usually couples only. You might also want to check out cruises; I think cruises give the best value, and offer the greatest diversity in terms of on and off ship activities. you’ll be able to sample the offerings of several different islands, swim and snorkel at different beaches, and return to the ship for great food and entertainment (you pay only for alcohol and sodas). For cruises that have the fewest children I suggest Royal Caribbean; Princess; Holland America.
